How We Got Started

Who are we ?

Shanantina maintains close relationships with its raw material suppliers, focusing on sustainable agriculture, which contributes to the recovery and preservation of the environment in which it develops, which is economically viable and socially responsible.

From the beginning, we were convinced that we could not take this path as a company independent of the environment in which it operates, far from the concerns and difficulties of producers. So we decided, based on our principles and values, to relate to them.

Our history

The story of Shanantina can be summed up in three words: principles, innovation and tolerance.

If it is true for our mind that the possibility of living in the Peruvian Amazon did not occur, we both developed our careers and our daily activities in the capital of Peru, but it is precisely this path and daily madness in the capital that prompted us to seek others. options.

In the winter of 2006, Carolina made a trip to the San Martin area. On his return, the small virus of organic farming passed him in memory, recalling his practices in bio-agriculture. Casa Blanca in Pachacamac, for my part totally separated from agriculture by my activities in the construction sector, tired of traveling to different parts of the country, the daily struggle to survive in the world of construction with its unions and the problems natural activities, have encouraged us to invest in Our Amazon.

Already in San Martín and looking for a place to settle, we hear about Sacha Inchi and its properties.

In search of information, we met the biologist Cesar Valles, promoter of research on Sacha Inchi and real pioneer of its commercial development and research, and made us look to the Lamas, land of Chancas, for us to establish and develop our fledgling agricultural activity.

It was in October 2007 that we conceived our eldest son, Shanantina, this little boy was born as a champion, because to develop our research activities, we needed staff, investments for research plots and others. . We entered the INCAGRO competition, a successful project of the Ministry of Agriculture, we realized our first project, then came CONCYTEC and others who helped us to shape and trace the horizon of our little one.
